Applying Machine Learning for Policy Analysis – An Introduction
This beginner-friendly workshop introduces machine learning and its applications in policy analysis, with guided hands-on coding in R. No prior background in machine learning is required. Participants will learn what machine learning is, the difference between supervised and unsupervised learning, and the types of questions and data for which these approaches are most useful. Through step-by-step coding with example data, participants will apply several widely used machine learning techniques in R. Basic familiarity with R is recommended.
