Though the concepts behind good documentation are straightforward (perhaps with the exception of some fields with detailed standards), it is a common issue across research domains that documentation for shared data is absent or lacking. In this workshop, we will outline the fundamental elements of good data documentation (including standardized metadata), explain the principles behind the recommended practices, and prepare you to streamline your own processes of data documentation.
