Experts Week: Legal and Ethical Considerations

Licensing is not likely the first thing on your mind when you’re generating your research outputs, but it makes a significant difference for open research. Moreover, the ethical considerations behind licensing decisions are critical for good data stewardship. In this unit, you’ll hear from campus experts on copyright, licensing, fair use, and legal and ethical compliance, and you’ll come away with a working grasp of license types and applicability for research data and code, as well as confidence about who to consult when you have more complicated questions.
