Connecting AI and Library Metadata
Event box

Join us for a presentation by James Zhang, the recipient of the Princeton Research Day Library Award.
In this short presentation and demonstration, James will present his senior thesis, which connects new capabilities in AI with librarians' work to create descriptive metadata. Quality metadata is essential for discovery. James's work augments existing manual practices with large vision-language models (LVLMs) to generate basic metadata and enabling librarians to focus on tasks requiring greater experience and expertise.
Participants will learn about James's senior thesis work with librarians and see a live demonstration of how his software works and how it could serve the needs of research libraries.
Read more about James's thesis and award in Library News.
