Guided tour: "Forms and Function: The Splendors of Global Book Making"
Event box

A 30-minute guided tour of the latest exhibition in the Milberg Gallery in Firestone Library at Princeton University. Tours meet in the lobby of Firestone Library.
The exhibition celebrates the diverse nature of books and includes many unusual items, with a focus on the continuous transmission and exchange of formal aspects in the world’s three major lineages of the book form: the codex, the East Asian, and the pothī traditions. In addition to objects from Princeton’s already well-known large Islamic, East Asian and Meso-American collections of manuscripts and printed books, items from many less well-known smaller collections, originating from all over the world, are also on display.
The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the Milberg Gallery, Firestone Library from September 10 through December 7, 2025. Open to the public.
