Open Access at Princeton: What Researchers Need to Know
Event box

Open Access provides free, immediate, online access to scholarly research. It not only has the power to transform the way research and scientific inquiry are conducted but is a complicated reality of the academic publishing landscape. Princeton University Library invites all community members to this 1-hour webinar to explore the basics of open access and examine research from our own team on the impact open access has on the research community. Talks will be followed by Q&A and discussion.
Part I: Open Access: Getting Started & Policy Compliance
Open access publishing can be confusing but is a critical part of the scholarship ecosystem. Understanding your options can have a tremendous impact on the life of your work. In this first talk, we’ll discuss everything from what OA is and how to choose a license, to the requirements for Princeton faculty and federally funded researchers.
Part II: Is Open Access for Everyone?
Who reads open access research—and why does it matter? Join us for this Open Access Week presentation about how people beyond academia use open access scholarly content. The findings show how open access breaks down barriers, helping students, professionals, and curious minds everywhere tap into the best available knowledge.
