Friends of PUL Small Talk: Adventures in the Collecting Trade

Landon Jones '66, former editor of People Magazine and author of "William Clark and the Shaping of the West,” joins Terry Seymour '66, FPUL Executive Committee member and author of "The Guide to Collecting Everyman's Library" and "A Printing History of Everyman's Library," to discuss adventures in collecting. Seymour will share anecdotes from his experiences collecting 1,000 volumes of the historic Everyman's Library, a compilation of the world's greatest literature, published between 1906 and 1982. Along the way, Seymour encountered booksellers and collectors of every type, including Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Seymour will also give an exclusive tour of his collection, which is housed in a newly constructed building opened in fall 2019.
