This final SFPUL event of the spring invites four representatives of PUL’s various divisions to share their professional experiences, address audience questions, and give advice about joining the library sector. Attendees will have the chance to pose targeted questions about the nature of working in a library, the range of library jobs available, the kinds of skills and qualifications employers seek out, and the state and future of the field. 

Panelists: 

Ian Bogus, Executive Director, Research Collections and Preservation Consortium (ReCAP) 
Since starting at his current role in November 2017, Ian has been responsible for the operations of a close-knit consortium jointly owned and operated by the libraries at Columbia University, Harvard University, and Princeton University as well as the Research Libraries at The New York Public Library. Before coming to ReCAP, he held various preservation roles at the libraries of the University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, and Rutgers University.

Dan Linke, University Archivist & Deputy Head of Special Collections
Dan worked at three other archival repositories, including the NY State Archives, before coming to Princeton in 1994, where he has served as Assistant Archivist for Technical Services at the Mudd Library, University Archivist and Curator of Public Policy Papers, and his current role, which he assumed in April 2020.

Deborah Schlein, Near Eastern Studies Librarian
Before taking on her current role, Deborah Schlein was a Provost’s Postdoctoral Librarian Fellow at NYU, where she trained with both the Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies librarians to learn more about the job, the field, and the profession. She received her PhD from Princeton's own Near Eastern Studies department, from which she graduated in 2019. 

Anu Vendantham, Assistant University Librarian for Research Services
Anu’s road to librarianship began with electrical engineering, wound through public policy school at Princeton, the US government, and K-12 education, and then into work and a doctorate in higher education. She has held library roles at Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania. She is a first-generation immigrant from India.
