"Piranesi on the Page" with Professor Carolyn Yerkes

The Student Friends of the PUL invites its members to a guided tour of "Piranesi on the Page" with co-curator, Professor Carolyn Yerkes. The tour will be followed by lunch (12:15-1:30 PM) at a restaurant in town.

From the description of the exhibition available here: "Piranesi on the Page" tells the story of how Giovanni Battista Piranesi, the foremost printmaker in 18th-century Europe, made the book the center of his artistic production. Celebrating Princeton University’s collection of Piranesi works, the exhibition draws from the Library's Special Collections including Graphic Arts, Numismatic, and Rare Books; the Marquand Library of Art and Archaeology; and the Princeton University Art Museum. The exhibition also features a number of loans from national and international collections, including several works that will be on display for the first time.

"Piranesi on the Page" will remain on display in the Milberg Gallery in Firestone through December 5, but this is an exclusive opportunity for an inside look at its curation from Carolyn Yerkes, Associate Professor of Art & Archaeology! There are 15 spots, open to SFPUL members only, for this event.
