SUMMARY:Introduction to Lidar data
DESCRIPTION:Light Detection and Ranging (Lidar) data is a different kind of
remote sensing data that will allow the user to visualize\, analyze\, and
extract a digital elevation model (DEM)\, slope and aspect\, height of
trees\, 3D building views\, etc. In the United States\, the US Geological
Survey is collecting high-resolution Lidar data and making them accessible
to the public. In this class\, students will learn how to download Lidar
data and then visualize and analyze it\, and extract and create DEMs and 3D
 building data.
